Daraja: The Bridge Builder Rising from the Bay to Atlanta with a Sound That Heals
**Atlanta, GA** – A new frequency is rising in the music world, and its source is Daraja.
Born and raised in Richmond, California, in the heart of the Bay Area, this Congolese-American artist has relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, leaving everything familiar behind to answer the relentless call of his purpose. In an act of bold faith, Daraja packed up his life and moved across the country to pursue music full-time.
“This move wasn’t just about location; it was complete surrender,” Daraja shares. “I had to be obedient. Your purpose keeps calling, no matter how far you stray. I strayed for a while, but the music never let me go.”
Now rebranded and fully committed in the cultural hub of the South, he is emerging as one of the most exciting new voices blending R&B, Afrobeats, and hip-hop. His sound—deeply nostalgic yet undeniably fresh—draws comparisons to icons like Maxwell, Michael Jackson, and Congolese legend Fally Ipupa, while still carving out a lane that is distinctly his own.
“Daraja” means “bridge to peace” in Swahili, a name that perfectly reflects his mission. He creates music rooted in healing frequencies, spiritual truth, and empowerment for underrepresented communities.
“I believe music is frequency, and frequency changes everything,” he says. “Every song I make is intentional. My goal is to raise the listener’s vibration, bridge cultures, and remind people that sound can lead us straight to peace.”
The industry is listening. He’s earned a co-sign from R&B icon Tank and performed alongside members of the legendary Tony! Toni! Toné! band in 2023 in Oakland. His single “I Want Ya” has already surpassed 53,000 views on YouTube and continues to gain momentum as new fans discover his soul-stirring sound.
Off the stage and out of the studio, Daraja lives what he preaches. A dedicated vegan and advocate for economic advancement in Black and Brown communities, he embodies the elevation he sings about.
His mantra—“Be free from the world and be fearless from the world’s expectations”—has become the anthem of his movement.
With a new chapter in Atlanta, a sharpened vision, and a catalog brimming with healing vibrations, Daraja is no longer an artist on the come-up.
He is the bridge the culture has been waiting for.
